Guitar pick suppliers/manufacturers

Firstly, I've had this page set up from the beginning, but haven't kept it up to date.  The best place on my website to find current picks is on the modern, unusual and handmade picks pages.

The links on this page are, if possible, direct links to the exact pages rather than just the home pages.  Websites have a habit of changing pages within a site, so please feel free to contact me if any links are broken! (Link at bottom of page).

Also, here's a link to guitar picks on Amazon:

Brossard

Very amazing exotic guitar picks handmade in San Francisco. Brossard crafts picks out of mammouth tusk, bone, horn, abalone, and exotic woods such as ebony and paddauk.

Butterfly Picks

They claim they make “The coolest picks in the universe!!!!” but their www.butterflypicks.com site is down at the moment so I'll point this to their Facebook page instead.
Update: I've heard that they're no longer trading, so if you find any for sale, grab them while you can!

Clayton USA

Huge selection of guitar picks. Custom guitar picks with high quality graphics.

D'Andrea

Way back in Greenwich, NY in 1922, Luigi D'Andrea made the first plastic guitar pick ever out of tortoise shell coloured cellulose nitrate.   D'Andrea are probably the most common pick ever produced as they made for lots of other companies.

Daisy Rock

Girl Guitar company!  Unfortunately they were unable to send picks to the UK when I asked! (How difficult can it be to stick a $0.98 stamp on an envelope?).  They did say they were passing my details on to a German supplier but I never heard a word from them, so not very helpful :-(
Managed to get some (from the US!) on eBay and they had extra ones that weren't on Daisy Rock's website.

D & D Guitar Picks

Celcon and Nylon guitar picks.
Update: Their website claim the picks are not currently available.

Dava Picks

Control Picks feel like different gauge guitar picks depending on how they’re held.

Dawg

Claim to be 'as close to tortoise shell you can get, without the guilt'.

Dean Markley

Various styles of guitar picks with the Dean Markley logo.

DR Guitar Picks

DR Guitar Picks are metal guitar picks designed for the professional guitarist. Materials include stainless steel, bronze, brass & copper. They are engineered and manufactured to a very precise specification, creating a precision tool for your playing.

Dugain Picks

Hand crafted in France by Jean-Charles Dugain since 1977, Dugain plectra are fashioned from natural materials such as ebony, bone, horn, coconut shell, agate, jasper, bronze and mammoth ivory. . Each has its own subtly individual sound and feel, and lends itself to a particular style of playing or instrument type.

Dunlop Picks

Dunlop offers a selection of over 50 types of picks including plastic, tortoise, nylon jazz, custom print, metal thumb picks & finger picks. A variety of sizes, thicknesses & materials is available. Doesn't everyone own a Dunlop? If you do, try something more adventurous than the tired old nylon grey ones!

Ernie Ball

Cellulose and nylon guitar picks, finger and thumb picks.

Everly

Guitar picks by Phil Everly! Makers of the Star Pick.  The 'star' cutout was originally 5 pointed but was found to be too uncomfortable so more points were added!

Fred Kelly

Flat, speed, slick, finger, thumb, freedom and the colourful 'bumblebee' picks.

Galli

Italian guitar picks made from Delrin, Celluloid, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Felt and Stainless Steel.

George Dennis

Guitar picks from the Czech Republic, including the cross hatched-moulded patented Perfect Grip pick.  Not much to see on the website at the moment.

Gibson

Not much on the website. Precision and accuracy; the two most important aspects of any guitar player's string plucking repetoir. How do you get it? Trust the past. Trust the shape, material and thickness preferred by generations of musicians since 1922 when the polymer pick was first invented. The shape; wider body for better grip and rounded tip for precision. The material; celluloid for maximum memory and minimum wear. The thickness; "Medium", the gold standard for net effect. A favorite with players of every style,

Grover Allman

Australian company offering customised and preprinted picks.  Materials included polycarbonate, nylon, and Delrin. They are also the people who manufacture the officially licensed South Park and The Simpsons guitar picks.
Raptor
I have a soft spot for these beautifully designed Acrylic picks that feature 4 different playing areas. Includes an unusual 'notch' for pulling off a string. Find them on my Modern Picks page.
