Sure Grip Picks
Sure Grip picks are molded from high grade polycarbonate (one of my personal favourite materials for picks!) for maximum pick strength and durability. The guitar pick is then overmolded with Santoprene rubber to give a soft touch pick feel with a no-slip grip.
At 0.060" (1.53mm) they are very thick and have a flat edge as opposed to bevelled. The thickness was chosen because of its popularity and ability to deliver a strong robust sound when picking and strumming with it

THE HISTORY
The Sure Grip guitar pick is the result of years of research and development by plastics engineers who were able to combine the very best in product performance, manufacturing techniques and materials selection. Enlisting the aid of guitar players from across the music spectrum, they were able to design and produce a unique guitar pick unlike anything available to the industry.
To begin with, 40 years of plastics experience told them that some of the very best solutions were usually found in the medical device field. By selecting a high strength medical grade polycarbonate resin, they found a material that would hold up under even the most demanding applications. It was determined that when injection molding a guitar pick with this material, they were able to hold exacting tolerances and achieve an ultra-smooth surface.
The next step in the process was to design a molded-in grip that would not interfere with the actual performance of the pick, but would give a soft touch feel for the users fingers. A specially blended Santoprene thermoplastic rubber was selected because of its soft durometer and resilient nature. The major challenge was to be able to insert mold it around the pick efficiently and yet have it bond to the polycarbonate without peeling off. Once this was achieved, the final step was to select colors that would enhance the look and appearance of the pick.
The Sure Grip guitar pick has a number of advantages over conventional guitar picks. The rubber grip gives a soft touch feel that is comfortable yet reassuring. During long periods of playing, the fingers can sometimes experience a "cramping" type feeling with regular picks. The Sure Grip eliminates this and allows you to play hours on end without any discomfort.
The second major benefit of the Sure Grip is just as the name implies. Standard guitar picks are subject to slipping from the holders grasp due to the slickness of the pick or perspiration on the players fingers. The Sure Grip has a raised profile which tends to slightly "capture" or align the fingers in place and prevent slipping. The rubber grip also neutralizes the effect of perspiration on the fingers.
Beginning guitar students can greatly benefit from Sure Grip because the grip area gives them a point of reference when learning to hold the pick. They can quickly get familiar with how the thumb and forefinger should grasp the pick, and therefore life-long habits can easily be trained in by the instructor.
