Burdwise
This is another pick that I've wanted ever since I saw it in Hoover's book!
The pick has the patent date April 23, 1918 stamped in it and a metal spring grip on both sides. It didn't make its catalog debut until the 1930 Continental issue listed it as #838 and described it as "wire spring grip - patented".
In the Targ & Diner catalog of 1934, it was numbered 3520 "wire-ring". (Thanks Brian for the additional info!)
