Pykmax
OK, so the first time I see pictures of these, I wonder 'What the....?!!!!'
I've come across plenty of 'unusual' or 'non-standard' picks, but never seen anything like these before! These really are beautifully designed with lovely smooth sweeping curves and a very smart gloss finish on the casing!
The best description probably comes from the makers themselves:

The best description probably comes from the makers themselves:
'Pykmax (pronounced Pickmax) is a patented new style of guitar pick that fits perfectly in the player’s hand. Its ergonomic design is engineered for a comfortable feel even after hours of playing.'
'By minimizing the “gripping” aspect of picking, Pykmax can significantly increase the player’s manoeuverability and control. By reducing or even eliminating the conscious and sub-conscious focus on picking, Pykmax opens up a whole new world of playing techniques that are simply not possible with a regular pick. Guitar instructors really like Pykmax because it naturally forces their students to orient the pick properly and removes a significant impediment to their progress. Instructors have reported that their students progress much faster when they switch to Pykmax.
Pykmax is the result of a multi-year design and engineering effort that has yielded numerous issued and pending patents.'

I was amazed at how comfortable this actually feels in the hand. If you're a seasoned guitarist, it takes a little playing to get used to, but when you're re-writing the rules, you have to expect these things to take time!!
I teach a group of 10 year olds who are forever dropping their picks and it suddenly occured to me that this might be ideal for them. The ones I have are all medium so will probably be too big, but I'm going to try it!
Another thought was that they could be useful to people who actually find it hard to grip (arthiritis etc.)
